BEFORE YOU LEAVE

Tips for traveling to Canada

Choose a region before adding cities

Toronto, Niagara, Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec allow you to plan a tour to the east. Vancouver and Victoria are in the Pacific, and Banff is in Alberta. These guides are independent options: check flights, trains, ferries and transfers before combining your days.

VIA Rail · route network

Check what documents you need

Entry requirements depend on your citizenship, documentation, status and mode of arrival. Consult the IRCC tool for your case before purchasing; Leaving from Puerto Rico does not alone determine whether you need a visa or eTA.

IRCC · requirements to enter Canada

Book the right experience

Urban parks and public viewpoints can be visited without hiring a tour. Museums, gondolas, boats and interior tours have their own entrances. Review the product and its inclusions; a free parliamentary visit may also require a ticket.

Parliament of Canada · official visitor reservations

Plan Banff by season

Check mountain advisories, lake access and trails before you head out. A seasonal shuttle reserves transportation and does not replace admission to the park. Lake Louise and Moraine Lake have different conditions; Don't assume vehicle access to both.
