Start with your booked Alcatraz departure from Pier 33 and leave time for boarding and the return trip. PIER 39 is a different waterfront location: check the departure point on your ticket before setting out.
Choose between the museum and a waterfront walk
The Exploratorium is at Pier 15, between the Ferry Building and PIER 39. You can combine the museum with a walk along this stretch of the Embarcadero, or spend the day outdoors if you prefer. Check daytime hours and After Dark admission conditions before choosing a ticket.
